“The year of the pickle” cracked me up! And 💯 on red licorice (Twizzlers, NOT Vines) as the ultimate road trip snack, along with a giant bag white cheddar Smartfood popcorn.
Yay! I’ll go back and forth between two lees and vines depending on what is freshest 😉
I’m not sure I can go to white cheddar popcorn - a tad too messy for me…tho I do remember a trip from WY to MN that involved a bag of delicious Costco caramel and cheddar popcorn that ended in a car wash and vacuumed 🤣
I would travel with your Dad anytime as long as he shared his roasted peanuts! As for pickles and liquorice not my thing ... I would have to bring my own snacks!
My dad loved peanuts. Yuck. Straight out of the can, god knows how long they'd been there. My dad also loved the drive, all over the country. I would grab jerky and Pop Rocks; my sister the Fun Dip. I'm pretty sure every trip we took had licorice, but I liked black; the rest of the family chose the red. You're right, never makes a mess!
