Oh, lovely, a 3-for-1 deal! The buttery ones sound especially tempting to me right now.
Most of our written family recipes are really comparatively young, dating to the mid-late 20th c with our grandmothers at the earliest. TBH many of our family food traditions involved prepackaged items, much like those canned "Grandma biscuits" — but those still contribute to important personal memories. If my grandmother served boxed mac'n'cheese in order to free up more time for her to beat everyone at Boggle, so be it :)
Exactly right, it’s not the food per se it’s the memories it holds and represents. My mom was of the generation that chose boxes and cans over scratch every time.
I found a bonus biscuit in my Great Grandma's 'coffee cake' recipe - that, of course, wasn't coffee cake but bread - which I learned is a German thing. They have their own special twist, just like each of yours!
I love biscuits!! All kinds. My Grandma Brown had a little countertop electric biscuit oven that was the perfect size for a can of biscuits. They had their own special taste and I loved them. I now have her little electric oven. Besides making your wonderful recipe for homemade biscuits, I should buy a roll of pre-made and give the oven a run.

Oh my! I’ll have to look thru my German community cookbooks to see if there find a treasure, too! Thanks, @Jennifer!
I can’t wait to hear what you find - happy hunting @Lori Olson White
Your biscuits are similar to what we call scones in Australia. We use the word biscuits for something I think you would call cookies.

Oh fun yes, you should definitely use the little oven!
I’ll post a Note about it afterwards. I just took a peek at it in the pantry and it seems down for it!
Excellent can’t wait!
I love the recipes!
